Most times technical writers and content writers are often mistaken to be same, but there are lots differences between both and i'll be sharing a few of the differences with you in this article.

WHO IS A TECHNICAL WRITER

A technical writer is a person who creates various types of technical documentation, that helps people understand a concept and guide them on how to use a product or service.

In other words, technical writers takes advanced technical concepts and communicate them as clearly as possible to their intended audience. for them to be able to communicate these concepts accurately they themselves are expected to have a proper knowledge and understanding of the concept they intend to communicate or share.

For example a technical writer with no idea on how to consume API's (application programming interface), will pass wrong or inaccurate information if he/she intends to write on the topic.

WHO IS A CONTENT WRITER

A content writer is a person who specializes in providing relevant content for websites.

Most story pieces are centered an marketing products or services, though this is not always the case. some websites are informational only and do not sell products or services.

WHAT CONTENT WRITERS ACTUALLY DO

  • Blog posts
  • Production description

  • Social media posts

  • Etc

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BOTH

As we know both are writers and they also have some skills in common like :-

  • Strong grammar

  • Writing skills

  • Research skills

  • Etc

However, these two professions are different in-spite, technical and content writers contents the types are very different.

Technical writing content requires more specific knowledge than content writing.

Technical writing must be objective and independent to make difficult concepts as clear as possible. content writing can contain an authors opinion and so on.
